From March 4th-6th, Fullerton, CA. will come alive with high flying, sugar pushing dancers as the swing dance community descends upon the historic Fullerton Ballroom in Orange County for a weekend of fast and furious dancing fun!

There will be a whole lot of hopping, bopping, jiving and wailing going on as swing dance aficionados from all over descend upon the otherwise tranquil town.

In addition to offering a safe place to satisfy your dancing needs, Inspiration Weekend also gives beginner dancers a place to start, where they can develop solid foundations and ultimately grow into full fledged swing dancers. There is also of course plenty to partake in for all levels, from the first timer all the way up to the advanced dancer to indulge in; from special workshops, performance opportunities, competitions and more, all participants will leave this event a better dancer with increased skill and ability.

Each days schedule is filled with workshops taught by special featured instructors, followed by a break for dinner, and late night social dancing to live music until 4 a.m. There will be four workshop tracks to choose from: A social dancer’s track, competition & show track, teacher’s track, and a newly added musician’s track – which isn’t just limited to musicians. The weekend with be sprinkled with special performances and competitions ranging from amateur Jack and Jill to All star level Jack and Jill, as well as solo jazz competition, blues battle and Lindy Hop tournament. Following a series of heats, competitors will go through multiple rounds from preliminaries to knockout rounds, up until the last dancers standing in the finals.

For three days straight you will dance your heart out to Balboa, Blues, Lindy Hop and Charleston. As participants dance these classic American dances to the iconic sounds of jazz legends like Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Lionel Hampton, Artie Shaw and beyond, covered by returning bands Falty & the Defects and The Jonathan Stout Orchestra, featuring Hilary Alexander, they will be taken to another era where jazz was King and a little inspiration was all you needed.

On the final evening, you won’t want to miss the special lecture “The Birth of Swing” with Kyle Smith or the special awards ceremony commemorating significant achievements and pillars in the swing dance community.

This special annual event is brought to you by Shesha and Nikki Marvin, Mikey Pedroza and James Bianco, whose main mission for Inspiration Weekend has been to truly inspire dancers with just the dance itself. So come join this wonderful weekend of inspiration as we come together to share our love of this classic music and dance!

Registration is still open for full weekend passes as well as single day passes. Pricing and further information at http://inspirationweekend.com/. So don’t miss your chance to dance and advance at this very special event!
